Since June of 2009, my husband and I have been happily settled on a small farm outside Berger, Missouri, on land we have owned since 2001. We live here with many animal companions: dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, and donkeys. My daughter, Emily Render, is raising our three grandsons across the Missouri river, and her three sons attend school in Hermann. We opened a pizzeria Hermann with our younger son, Nathan Render in 2016. Nathan and his wife live on our farm with our granddaughter, Malis. Our other granddaughter, Nelani, lives in
Indiana. I have dedicated The Magic Wand to both of these wonderful granddaughters.

For many years, as my children grew up and left home, I filled my newly acquired free time with learning to play musical instruments and devoting time to writing fiction and poetry. In addition to The Magic Wand, I have written a novel for adults, Parallel Lines, and I am well into writing a second novel. The arts are an important part of my life. I have been delighted to be a part of the community of artists, photographers, writers, and musicians living in this area.
